Ride for Health, Week 1: Making tracks in Tanzania!

Day 2 –

We have safely crossed into Tanzania. We now have a 45km cycle to our overnight stop.

Day 3 –  UPHILL BATTLE!

Lot’s of uphills but past beautiful tea estates and banana plantations.

This is mount Rungwe, a 2960m dormant volcano. At its foot lies the town of Tukuyu, Tanzania where we are sleeping tonight.

Day 4 – Mbeya, Tanzania

It was a great ride into Mbeya today including a 30km continuous climb. On the way there were so many bananas and potatoes and other produce grown in terraced fields.

Days 5 & 6 – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Over 1000KMs into our journey!!! And we are now into Tanazania’s largest city – Dar es Salaam.

Day 7 – Coasting in Bagomoyo

First week complete. Ride for Health is in Bagomoyo on the Tanzanian coast – once the base of the slave trade. Follow the ride to raise awareness for noncommunicable diseases.
