Long-time Dignitas medical advisor Dr. Adrienne Chan has received a medical social responsibility award from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Chan received the award for her work at Dignitas International over the past decade, which focuses on responses to HIV in resource-limited settings. She was also recognized for her work with the World Health Organization from 2014-2015 on the emergency response to Ebola in Sierra Leone. She shares the award with another physician, Dr. Sharmistha Mishra, who in addition to producing a body of influential work on mathematical modelling of HIV prevention programs in South Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa, worked together with Dr. Chan and the WHO team to support the development of long term care for survivors of Ebola in West Africa.
From everyone at Dignitas, we offer you our heartfelt congratulations.
